Launched in 2010, the Alaska Watchdog is a “bureau” connected to the other Watchdog.org sites that are a project of the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity. It receives support from the Alaska Policy Forum. The Franklin Center seeks to “investigate and inform the public about waste, fraud, abuse, ethical questions and safety concerns involving the use of taxpayer dollars,” and was launched with the help of the Sam Adams Alliance, a free-market think tank.
