Launched in 2009, the Kansas Watchdog focuses on “government waste and inefficiency, political corruption and anything that goes against free-market principles and the core values.” The site is a project of the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity and the Kansas Policy Institute. The Franklin Center seeks to “investigate and inform the public about waste, fraud, abuse, ethical questions and safety concerns involving the use of taxpayer dollars.” The Kansas Policy Institute states that it focuses on free-market solutions and personal freedom.
