New Mexico Watchdog
Launched in 2009, the New Mexico Watchdog (also branded as Capitol Report New Mexico) reports on politics, economics and statehouse activity. The site is a project of the Rio Grande Foundation and the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity. The Rio Grande Foundation is a public policy research and education center “dedicated to increasing liberty and prosperity for all of New Mexico’s citizens.” The Franklin Center seeks to “investigate and inform the public about waste, fraud, abuse, ethical questions and safety concerns involving the use of taxpayer dollars,” and was launched with the help of the Sam Adams Alliance, a free-market think tank. New Mexico Watchdog’s managing editor Rob Nikolewski has spent more than 20 years in journalism, and is a three-time Emmy winner for his work as a television anchor and reporter.
