West Virginia Watchdog
Launched in 2009, the West Virginia Watchdog was created “as [a] place where the public can go for original, thorough reporting on the statehouse.” The site is a project of The Public Policy Foundation of West Virginia and the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity. The Public Policy Foundation is committed to “individual liberty, the free market and the proper role of government.” The Franklin Center seeks to “investigate and inform the public about waste, fraud, abuse, ethical questions and safety concerns involving the use of taxpayer dollars,” and was launched with the help of the Sam Adams Alliance, a free-market think tank.Editor-in-Chief Steven Allen Adams was named one of the 50 best state-based political reporters by the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza.
